Independence Day

'At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom!'
(Excerpt from the speech: A Tryst with Destiny)
I think, all of us, love their countries at some or the other point of life, I am going through this stage. Since, I began watching patriotic movies for an example...Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's 'Rang de Basanti!’ or J.P. Dutta's Border, my mind keeps dangling in those times of the colonial country whenever I have to study or my mind is schizophrenic to the wails of the women while they were jumping into the well at Jallianwalla Bagh and my eyes keep flashing the macabre of the Partition of India and Pakistan. And my heart melts at the heroic sacrifices of Chandrashekher Azad, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Bismil, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and many more heroes! And when I hear the speech of Jawaharlal Nehru, I feel as much cheerful as the people! It creates a Parliament-type atmosphere and I just love it.
But let's jist have a bird's eyeview of the current scenario of India, do people still celebrate this day with the same enthusiasm and patriotism, many, yes, but some just dissovle the patriotism in the long drives waste the day for what it is meant for. Yeah, I too go out somewhere but I watch the flag hoisting ceremony at the community centre of my society! So, I reccomend you all to wake up early just for the day and watch the flag hoisting ceremony in your societys or just remember and pay a tribute to those who laid down their lives to make our country free! Also, be grateful to the Indian Army (in prospect to Indians) because they are protecting us from attacks from neighbouring countries and happy Independence Day!

Childhood Days...

Friends, today I feel too nostalgic, enough pain forces me to write to you people this post, the brevity of age, can take centuries enough to forget! I mean childhood...
Reminisce those days of carefree fun and frolic and joy! Merrymaking, playing free in open parks and those smiling faces. Somewhat our childhood has been spent in the lap of Mother Nature. Watching animated movies and cartoons and while watching them, getting amazed at those feats, which are just like a cakewalk to us now.
Every child surely does love Lightning McQueen!
We cried, we got a toy, we smiled we got chocolates! We got cranky, we would sleep nicely, whenever, we could wake! So many relatives came across those days, unknowingly we've had a lot of fun in our childhood!
(I had asthama [breathing problem] though, but I still enjoyed my childhood:D). Friends, I can't take this nostalgia anymore.
(P.S. - don't forget to read the captions!)
Farewell, friends!
Of course, no one can forget Oswald and his friends, Henry and Daisy!
Yeah, you too, Clifford, you're in our childhood memories too!
Is it just me, or everyone fancies having a ride in the Magic School Bus?!

Religion, not Riot!

Well people, today's post is going to be slightly depressive, so, it's up to you now, if you want to read this.
God created all of us, he created many things, we created a religion, and from there, emerged many other religions, our country, India, became an amalgamation of several faiths, but some people become too aggressive on religion and they create riots all over the country! For instance - several riots are a result of unfriendly ties within two religions, till today, I'd only heard of unfriendly ties between two countries culminating in riots. And India is a secular country, the people (of India) who have invited other religions so much of friendliness and courtesy, they shouldn't do this, several people lose their lives in riots just because they are not following a particular religion! Isn't there something very wrong with this country?, but let us take pledge that we will not discriminate anyone on the basis of his caste or religion! Because...
मज़हब नहीं सिखाता, आपस में बैर रखना। (No religion teaches us to be cruel to others who follow other religions, being in harmony is the best!)
Till then, remain happy, remain delighted! And be open to all religions!

Your Guide to Music

Another cool breezy Sunday's here and guess what, I'm gonna describe 'bout bands! Yep explains my accent too.

There are so my bands and relatively less record keeping shops nowadays because of the USB trend, but if you reach one, you're confused, what shall I buy? Well, hope this post'll be answerable.

By my opinion also, there are many bands which are up to the mark like - The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Indian Ocean (an Indian band), Guns 'n' Roses, and countless more...

First of all, choose up your favourite band or artist, e.g.- Justin Timberlake, etc.
Then, read a review.
Then, listen to the songs, if you like them...
Don't jump now!
Listen to them observantly, think if they are worth buying, mostly it is a 'yes', if you like the songs, go to your nearest store and go for it!
Hope this post (basically tutorial) helped you!

Yours sincerely

Books...Best Friends

After much thinking, pondering, scratching my brain, I've come to this topic, books! People say, they are the man's best friends like dogs (they're so adorable)!. Well, books can be very economically beneficial to me, a writer (just a joke)!
See! I aspire for this!
Talk about Harry Potter, talk about Sherlock Holmes, or Lord of the Rings, wonderful books are countless! And, if you have no friends, books are the best! Possibly, books can help making friends, I've had an experience like this...

I am an avid reader of the Feluda Mysteries by the Oscar-winning Satyajit Ray...
It all started when my friend gave it to me for a try. I was engrossed in it's pages and was cracking my knuckles and biting my nails, thinking about the climax, the villain, and as the story wounded up to the climax, I was like...Oh yes! I too thought so...
After a couple of years, I mean this year, my friend took out a Feluda mystery for trying it himself. Till then, I'd completely forgotten Feluda. Then, in 2014, I started reading these awesome books of Satyajit Ray! Lottery was when, mom gave me the Classic Feluda:1... I wish to read the second volume as well!

See, this's my experience, I've made friends from books. And I've found true company in them. It's true and proven for me that books are the man's best friends!

Summer's Here!

January, February, March...
O'yes it's April now! Summers's here!
Certainly summers are the best. And going to a hill station in this scorching heat is like a cake with icing on the top!
I mean, nothing is better than playing in a big yard facing beautiful mountains, if you're in India, the Himalayas are the best choice. If in Europe then, the Alps! The best part is the summer vacations we, children have in the summers! One and a half months holidays...
And at your home, you can also do a variety of things, switch on the fans, take out the ice tray and serve to yourselves and your relatives some iced tea or cold coffee!
But don't let yourself go dehydrated, I, myself have experienced this, it'll ruin your vacations, drink water from time to time. Don't put on the AC's, they pollute the environment, have a green summer, have a dream summer!

Holi!

Another spring has knocked our door, and spring means, Holi: The Festival of Colours! I'm super-excited!
For those, who're not Indians, let me get you all accustomed to the festival....
Holi is the day when the whole country (India) rejoices and celebrates while throwing colours and water on their friends and relatives, everyone's delighted, yeah! Sometimes, this can be very rowdy too, so be prepared!
Tough guy, isn't he?! This is how we play Holi!
Now, every single festival has one thing in common, guess...its food! Yep, we eat a mouth-watering cuisine on Holi, like: gujias, papads and other tasty sancks. I'm pretty sure that a carnival of Holi is organized in every society! People gather around, chatter, play with the colours, spray waters on others with their pichkarees (sort of a water gun)! Interesting, huh? But, be careful, wear, old clothes, so that you don't dirty the new ones! And second, don't drink too much bhaang (sort of an alcohol). If you are under the influence of it, DON'T play, Holi, you may thro mud instead of colours, you never know! Yes, thandai (milk) is rather a good and healthy option! It is cool and tasty! So guys, take out your wallets and buy water balloons and pichkarees!
And above all, forget the difference between the poor and the rich! This is the symbol of Holi!
After all,
बुरा ना मानो, होली है!
The Daily Delight wishes you all Indians and NRI's, a very happy Holi!

Women's Day

Well then, I've posted a day early, so that you guys, especially women can read my blog, on this auspicious day! Women's Day, 8th March, and its the 365th Women's Day, all day a women's day in a year, he-he, just a joke. By the way, women power has become quite active in India, since several issues of physical and mental violence and discrimination have come up, women want to change their situation in these cases, and a fire of justice and righteousness towards them has ignited their souls
Campaigns, rallies, protests and dharnas to arise issues on women's right issues are frequent nowadays, their awareness has been spread through songs, plays and meetings!
But one more case is dowry, which the groom takes during weddings, this is a punishable crime, yet, is practiced in rural and remote areas. Also, sometimes, the groom is greedy of dowry and if the bride's family is unable to pay the amount, the bride is murdered by her husband or in-laws! Isn't that disturbing!
I made this poem in Hindi with a translation over this issue
"बनाओ जीवन साथी हमें तुम्हारा , अच्छा लगेगा हमको
हमसफ़र, मत तोलो इस शादी को"
(Make me your wife, o'dear, I'll be pleased,
But don't weigh this marriage on the scales of dowry!)

Modernity, Video Games....Something's Changing, Something's Addicting

Friends, today's world is full of machines and virtual gaming devices or consoles as we call them.
Nintendo, XBOX, Namco, Sega and Sony's PSP's have dominated the child's mind, atleast in India, in the metro areas. At least something's wrong. Guys, reminisce those days of joy when all the boys of the town competed against the other town, tournaments! Tournaments are held now also, but the frequency and enthusiasm of the child has drastically gone down to enter the tournaments. And the culprits are these gaming consoles! I mean, these devices are just for a little entertainment, but, nowadays, the scenario is changed. Children just want to play virtually all day! We have to work upon this serious issue now. Besides the physical stamina of a child is also decreasing and their weight is, increasing. They also make the child stubborn. As people, we should protect kids from this disease.

Me+Laptop+Bed=A perfect relationship

Yep, amigos, another wonderful Wednesday's here! And I'm in front of my companion, my laptop, my type of journal as I mentioned before, and as they say! Me+Laptop+Bed=A perfect relationship
A laptop can do a variety of things, everyone knows, but the bond we, humans have created with it is amazing! We, humans, especially, techies, can't live without electronics or laptops. Laptops are like potable - arcades, cinemas, concert halls, etc. And chatting with friends while relaxing on a comfortable bed is - divine!
Yep, these are somewhat like, uh..human weaknesses!
And who provides this is our friendly mate, the laptop, and no tablets can conquer it, but if you are in a hurry, or on the go, the iPad is an excellent option!

The page, oh! I just, didn't notice, that's all for today, mates, till then, remain happy, remain...delighted!

Welcome

The sun sets by my computer screen as I write this post to you all, another dark, murky, gloomy sort of evening is here. These are the times, that let you open your journal, blog, diary and other personal notepads and fill them up! Yep, I'm also doing that, this is my second blog after Poets-ville. For those who don't know me, I'm Karan from India! I'm a student of 7th grade and blah, blah, blah..(I don't like introductions, I mean, once I start telling my tale to you all, it'll fill almost half this page!) So, don't get started with me on that, got it! Well, I've fractured my left arm accidentally as I fell off my cycle! I'm a lefty and sadly, not an ambidextrous. So, my exams will be held late and I have some extra time to prepare while the others will be mugging up, sorry, but I'm a kid and will talk mostly about school stuff. I'm quite a poet and I'm widely recognized for that in school. Your introductions can nestle in my comment section, so that I can improve, motivate myself by your appreciations and your visits on this page, I welcome you all to my blog, the Daily Delight!
